Why did you decide to not tap into the ignition lead? Which wire on the ccm sends out a negative output? It's also supprising that most cars still don't have very good alarms or no alarm at all, or they still use the horn instead of a siren??
The only downside is that the sensor is hooked up to constant so it's always on, but shouldn't be a big deal.
It's not like the standard alarms broke it works perfect thats why i'm leaving it as it is and adding a 2nd alarm. The instructions recommend your ignition wire, but I didn't want to tap that. If you do not install the aftermarket alarm then you will have 2 key fobs, one for the OEM alarm and one for the starter. You can plug in your VIN look at the various assemblies and note differences. It's really annoying when you dont have much money, and anything you need has to be ordered from the internet, plus you can't just get a sensor and add more alarms later, i've got to get another alarm to get a working proximity sensor.
Thank you for your support! My suggestion would be to install an aftermarket alarm because you can activate the OEM and aftermarket at the same time. The trigger wire can be either the hood switch wire or the door switch wire. To my knowledge you can not add a shock sensor to the OEM alarm. Before that they were fine,I know someone that had an original Clifford Eagle in his car for ten years and never ever had any trouble with it (they were a bit quirky to fit and use though).I had a big argument on Talkaudio with an ex employee of Directed who still swore blind that ALL problems with Clifford alarms were caused by fitting errors and wouldn't accept the evidence that when I'd managed to cure all the problems I was getting with Clifford alarms (mainly Concept 50s) by replacing them with Laserline and Scorpion which I never had any problems with afterwards. A friend has just moved house and i'm having to park in the street and there has been a few lads hanging around the street, and walking passed the motor, they may not do anything but if the motor is there often they may try to mess with it, hense the reason for my security paranoia, i park opposite the house so i can see the motor through the spy hole in the door but, it's no good visiting a friend and having to get up and keep and eye on the motor, the warn away would be loud enough for me to hear and would give me peace of mind aswell as giving anyone trying to mess with the motor abit of a scare / warning it's protected!
