It’s easy to use and has no smell! And I way back after tints of nature I got back to Herbatint which made me feel a way well then tints of nature. But it looks as if I dumped a box of black shoe polish on my head if I use anything darker than dark blonde — and that is too dark. The color continued to stay intense for a few months even when my natural color started to grow back. Natural things always prove to be useful for the help of the people as compared to the things that are made artificially.

@Candice..so if one adds less peroxide to the colour mix will your hair be less dry? I had tried a L’Oreal box haircolor with a friend years ago and was alarmed at how straw-like and damaged my hair became — never again. But one of the major thing is that people have to make choices for them that either to choose the natural things or the herbal things. But the color 5n is perfect for Naturtint and 5n in Heratine is too dark. I feel good about using Herbatint over dangerous chemicals.
But I kept on my way in the search of the perfect one that suited best for my hair. I used Copper Brown 4.6. I have medium-dark brown hair. Not sure about how much Naturtint lasts, I heard about 6 weeks, so wich one lasts more? Herbatint worked well on my brassy hair for the first few times. After years of L’Oreal and Clairol, I started using Naturtint. I am looking around for a natural semi-permanent to try, because maybe my hair just doesn’t like permanent haircolor. I would only recommend it to others who have severely sensitive skin and scalp and only wish to color their hair 1 to 2 shades darker or lighter. I have to deal with facial dry, peeling skin around nose and eyebrows and use triple antibiotic and sometimes apple cider vinegar or witch hazel with a moisturizer afterwards. Either that or the dark blonde to browns leave it way too dark. I would not repurchase. It did smell pleasant and was very gentle.
It stung my scalp and turned out more copper than brown.
But I’ve become a defeatist about the orange-tone. A patch test should be done before applying the product to the whole head. Herbatint is the finest, most natural permanent hair colouring gel free of harsh chemicals and Ammonia. I’d say medium between fine and thick but a bit more on the fine side. Can prob find it online.
I had to load it with Silk Therapy oil in order to bring it back to a manageable condition! Might be my hair didn’t suit with all of it. Naturtint 100%. I use just Herbatint dark blonde and light chestnut on my roots and then add some mahogany blonde and/or light mahogany chestnut into the mix for the long hair. It was easy enough to eliminate some of the more obvious problems like pesticide use in and around the home and to choose safer cleaning products but I wasn’t paying attention to the ingredients in many of my personal products. But I used to once and which made a bad choice for me. Years ago there was a company that a oxygen but, they are no longer around. We have a great natural hair care client, Tints of Nature, that you may want to try. I’ve used Ardell’s “Unred,” a few times, mixed in, but it doesn’t have lasting effects beyond the next shampoo.
