A Rubik's Cube Cake to Celebrate the Iconic Puzzle's 40th Birthday Okay, maybe you don't want to celebrate the Rubik's Cube on its 40th, considering how darn frustrating it is to solve! Based on a Battenberg-style cake (a marzipan-covered cake that reveals a check pattern when you cut into it) the different pieces of this cake are dyed in the traditional six colors of the Rubik’s cube. Of course you can completely ignore how she cut/stacks her cakes because the inside cubes are completely unnecessary. But she does a decent job of explaining what she does along with the video. I follow this one baker on YouTube and she made a rubik's cube cake one time. That’s how I felt when I came across Vicky’s (of the blog S’Tasty) Rubik’s Cube birthday cake. Sometimes you find or see something that just makes you want to give a long, slow clap.
