The cloth gives a much better smooth finish than the paint brush and recommend this for anyone wanting to do it themselves. I had tried other worktop oil from Rustin's but they were difficult to get an ultra smooth shiny finish and took ages to dry fully. A man should always take care of his wood.

Gives a natural open grained, soft lustre finish. So ok what I was actually left with was the cast iron ends! The finish is smooth (if you're carefull) and low-gloss. This unfortunately didn't, so I still have lighter, sanded patches of wood. I usually use Danish oil, which I loathe as it seems to get on everything and remains sticky for ages. Try again.

I like the smell when using but some might not agree. If water drops form beads on the surface it is still good. Very pleased.
